Listen Now to Future News 3.07.2017

We had a lot of fun this weekend attending the Cinequest Film and VR Festival in Silicon Valley.  Actually, we just attended the VR Fest..not that we don’t like films, its just that there was so much cool stuff with VR that we just didn’t have time for anything else!  So, the first part of today’s show is all about what we saw at the festival, with our recommendations.  At the 45 min mark, we ask VR creator Jean Yves Chainon about the future of social VR and who is in that world.

We also spent a considerable amount of time exploring the Vault 7 Wikileaks releases on the CIA and their Year Zero exploits this week. What a treasure trove with lots of implications! Listener Col Terry called in to remind us how serious this breach is..What do you think?  Enjoy..

Future News- Review of Maker Faire with VR pundit Greg Panos, Richard Cray, and Drone Racer Zoe Stumbaugh

Listen to Future News 5.24.2016

The KSCO studio was full today with visitors, all of whom participated in adding valuable comments to our most interesting topics.  All our guests had been at last weekend’s epic Bay Area Maker Faire, from which we drew content for much of the show. We also delved a bit into politics, given that this is a major election year, and after all, we are on talk radio.  For that segment we even got a call from Republican Jerry Law, running for a U.S. Senate position this year in California.

For the last segment of the show we bring on Zoe Stumbaugh, who is the first woman to make the Drone Nationals this year!  We talk about the latest amazing track design, debuted at the Maker Faire, and the future of drone racing as a career path.  A very dynamic and exciting show this week, enjoy!

Future News - Coming to You From 'Mad Scientist Island', Quebec, Canada

Listen Now to Future News - 8.18.2015

Hey folks, for those listeners checking out our locale, check out our snazzy tent in the woods, on “Mad Scientist Island” in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada! Why the tent?  Because at our broadcast hour the mosquitos come out en masse, looking for dinner, and we look good to them!  The rest of the day is pretty much insect free, however.

Today’s news segment features a live call from our correspondent Greg Panos, who chaired a session at Siggraph last week on the pioneers of Virtual Reality.  He gives us an update on what unfolded at SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group Graphics) in relation to the art and science of VR.

This week we also look at the trading routes of Ivory smugglers in Africa, thanks to hidden GPS transponders, why email is broken and new alternatives, the current state of xeno-transplantation for organs, self-evolving robots, and the coming wave of bionic hearing devices, all from our tent in the woods on an island with loons on the lake behind us.  Enjoy!!

Broadcasting from a little island in the Laurentian Mountains!
